A Message from our Co-founder:
While these are unprecedented times, I have been amazed at how much our teams, families and partners have shown their love and support for our residents and our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community. Thank you for your understanding as we move through a situation that is both uncharted territory and evolving every day. I want to assure you that our teams continue to be proactive, focused, compassionate and diligent in their approach to safety, care and service delivery. I am proud to say that our teams have offered calm and steady leadership during this crisis.
When we started the Blake brand, we knew that bringing families together was a vital part of our mission and goal. The decision to limit visitation to those who are absolutely essential, for example, was an extremely difficult one to make – and you should know that we did not take it lightly. Because we serve one of the most vulnerable populations during this crisis, we knew that the number one way to keep our residents safe was to do everything possible to keep the virus from entering our community. We continue to utilize the most current information being distributed from the CDC, our local healthcare professionals and our State regulatory agencies. We are also conducting daily update calls with our teams to ensure that we are listening to their challenges, successes and needs so that we can provide the immediate support and gratitude that they need to care for our residents and your loved ones.
Currently, our communities do not have a confirmed case of the Covid-19 virus. At this time, we are maintaining all protocols that were implemented to limit visitation to those that are absolutely essential. In addition, we are not offering communal meals in our dining rooms. With that said, we are offering compassionate alternatives and utilizing physical distancing for those residents that may not be able to have a meal in their apartments. I’m proud of our team for advocating for both the safety and emotional well-being of our residents. We have teams that genuinely love and respect our older adults and they have shown it in innovative and inspiring ways.
I’m happy to report that activities, social engagement and joy are still a part of life at our communities. I hope that you are enjoying some of these experiences via our Facebook pages, facetime, Heart Legacy videos and skype. Our teams are ready to connect you with your loved one utilizing one of these options. So, please feel free to reach out to a Blake team member. We cannot thank you enough for your support, kind words and for reaching out to our residents to assure them that they are loved and missed. I’m honored to work with such a steadfast and compassionate team. And I’m humbled to serve such amazing residents and families.
