As Escambia County continues to cope with the coronavirus pandemic and a sharp rise in confirmed cases of COVID-19, we wish to provide you with this important update regarding The Blake at Pensacola. Following a new state mandate, we have begun testing all team members every 14 days.
We tested all sixty-six team members for COVID-19 on July 2 & 3. Some of the results of those tests were returned to us on July 10th and eight team members have tested positive for COVID-19. We want you to know that these team members have not had any symptoms of COVID-19 before testing or even in the seven or eight days since testing. As a reminder, all team members are screened for fever and other symptoms prior to every shift. None have exhibited symptoms and they are currently not working.
We are committed to transparency and sharing our most recent updates because we believe it is beneficial for everyone’s health and well-being to keep our residents, families and team members fully informed. As our nation continues to cope with the coronavirus pandemic, we wish to provide you with this important update regarding The Blake at Pensacola.

Throughout the evolving challenges presented by the COVID-19 crisis, I have been amazed at how much our teams, families and partners have shown their love and support for our residents and our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community. We are pleased to report that we have had no positive test results for residents or staff at The Blake at Pensacola.

We understand that the general public will begin to see a softening of restrictions and stay-at-home mandates as government officials begin the process of re-opening our economy. Because our residents are most vulnerable to experience more severe symptoms from the COVID-19 virus, continuing to keep our community healthy and safe remains our priority.
We’re happy to report that while we are practicing physical distancing and expanded infection control protocols, engagement and joy are still a part of life at The Blake. Last week, we enjoyed homemade ice cream and homemade cookies and our resident musicians are performing daily.
