7/3/20 UPDATE FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MONAH FOLSE

As our nation, state and local community cope with the coronavirus pandemic, we wish to provide you with this important update regarding The Blake at Lafayette. 

We were informed today that a staff member of The Blake at Lafayette has tested positive for COVID-19.  The staff member has not been in the community since June 29, 2020.   As we previously shared, we were informed on June 24, 2020 that a resident’s 3rd party caregiver had tested positive for COVID-19.  Both the staff member and the 3rd party caregiver are doing well and are quarantining in their respective homes. No residents of The Blake at Lafayette have tested positive for COVID-19 at this time.

As our nation, state and local community cope with the coronavirus pandemic, we wish to provide you with this important update regarding The Blake at Lafayette.

We were informed that a resident’s third party caregiver has tested positive for COVID-19. We are pleased to report that the resident has tested negative for COVID-19. The resident has had limited contact with other residents and is currently sheltering in place under quarantine in their apartment at The Blake. The caregiver did not have contact with any other residents while on site at The Blake and has not been in the community since Monday, June 22. No residents or employees of The Blake have tested positive for COVID-19 at this time.

As our nation, state and local community continue to cope with the coronavirus pandemic, we wish to provide you with this important update regarding The Blake at Bossier City. We are glad to report that we do not have an active positive cases of Covid-19 with any of our residents.

We were notified today that one of our part-time staff members has tested positive for COVID-19. The team member has not been in the community since May 30th and we are continuing to monitor the situation very closely.

Throughout the evolving challenges presented by the COVID-19 crisis, I have been amazed at how much our teams, families and partners have shown their love and support for our residents and our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community. We are pleased to report that we have had no positive test results for residents or staff at The Blake at Lafayette.

We are actively reviewing our current visitation protocols to determine a safe plan for a phased re-opening of our doors to families and guests. We understand that the general public will begin to see a softening of restrictions and stay-at-home mandates as government officials begin the process of re-opening our economy. Because our residents are most vulnerable to experience more severe symptoms from the COVID-19 virus, continuing to keep our community healthy and safe remains our priority.

We understand the importance of sharing current and vital information with We’re happy to report that while we are practicing physical distancing and expanded infection control protocols, engagement and joy are still a part of life at The Blake. This week, we are planting herbs, having sing-a-longs from a distance and courtyard Yoga.

We’re also pleased to report that we have had no positive test results for residents or staff at The Blake at Lafayette.
