Meet Our Team
Nicole is a Tri-Cities native and comes to us with a wealth of experience having previously served as an administrator in Assisted Living and Memory Care. She is also a Licensed Health & Life Insurance Agent.
Nicole began her career in senior living with the hope of making a difference in the lives of others, not realizing the profound difference that those she serves would make in her own life. She looks forward to building a community in which both our residents & our team members can grow and thrive. Nicole strives every day to exemplify the core values of Blake Management Group which include: accountability, compassion, integrity, joy, fun and leadership.
Nicole and her husband, Jimmy, live in Johnson City and stay busy with their five children, Brittany, Chance, Gavin, Jada and Angel. She is passionate about serving others, especially children and the elderly and enjoys organizing and leading ladies’ retreats in her spare time.
Director of Sales
Jake comes to The Blake with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Alice Lloyd College and a Certified Workers Compensation Adjuster certificate. He has previous experience at Tri-State Claims Service (Ballad’s Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster).
Jake’s favorite part of working with seniors is to watch residents thrive in our community, including daily interaction and providing comfort to them. He loves working at The Blake because of the amount of love and compassion he receives daily from our leadership team and residents. He truly looks forward to coming to work each day and living by The Blake Key Values: Excellence, Compassion, Leadership, Integrity, Respect, Safety, and Joy. Jake watched The Blake be built from dirt to the most beautiful building in Kingsport! “The Blake is such a blessing to me because I feel that I have answered my calling. There is nothing I would rather do!”
When he’s not working, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife, Brooke, and dog, Daisy. He also loves to play golf and fish. Most importantly, watching Tennessee Football!!!
Director of Business Operations
Donna Roberts serves as Director of Business Operations. She grew up in Alcoa and recently moved to Kingsport from Knoxville where she spent the last 5 years working as Business Office Director at an Assisted Living & Memory Care Community. Donna graduated from ETSU and has over 27 years of experience in office administration. She loves working with seniors because she never feels like she is “going to work.” She feels blessed to be able to listen to the many stories of wisdom and faith that are shared by residents.
Donna is very excited to join our team at The Blake and loves the positive energy that surrounds each member of our team. She is truly honored to be a part of our leadership launch team and loves getting to see the excitement of the entire Kingsport community about our upcoming opening.
Director of Activities
Cindy Lemons is The Blake at Kingsport’s Director of Activities and a native and lifelong resident of Kingsport. She studied Elementary Education at Tennessee Wesleyan College and has over 20 years experience planning events for community boards and organizations.
Cindy is a foodie at heart and loves collecting recipes and cookbooks, reading magazine about cooking and baking and cooking for family and friends.
Director of Wellness
Kyle was born in Sewanee, TN, but now resides in Kingsport, TN. He comes to The Blake as an LPN from TCAT in Elizabethton, TN. His previous experience includes Donor Serves – Recovery Tech Coordinator & National Trainer, Indian Path in ER, ICU, and Med Surg.
His favorite part of working with seniors is listening to their stories and experiences. He looks forward to each day working at The Blake, alongside his team and supporting the care of the residents.
Kyle likes to go kayaking, fishing, and golfing in is free time. He is also the father of two amazing boys, Grady and Garrett.
Assistant Director of Wellness
From the time she was old enough to think about a career, Whitney knew she wanted to work in a field where she could serve others. Starting out as a CNA working primarily in long term care, and memory care at assisted living, and then graduating from Northeast State Community College in 2017 with a degree in nursing. It has always been her dream to be able to work for a company where she can truly make a difference in the lives of others doing what she feels that God has led her to do.
Whitney has experience with long term care, memory care and assisted living, as well as mental health, skilled, and acute care stepdown patients. Her heart has always been with the senior community, and being able to get to know her residents and give them the care they deserve, as well as hearing their stories and building relationships with them.
Whitney is from Erwin, Tennessee, but currently lives in Kingsport, Tennessee with her husband, Martin, and their three dogs: Kobe, Teddy, and Maggie. She enjoys being outdoors, fishing, playing golf, and spending time with her wonderful family.
Retention Support Specialist
Hollie is responsible for planning and implementing all employee engagement events, improving employee morale, satisfaction, and loyalty, interviewing, on-boarding, and orientating new hires. She is originally from Loudon, a small town in Tennessee.
Hollie graduated in May 2020 from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration and a Minor in Management. She also has an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Pellissippi State Community College. She now serves as our Retention Support Specialist. Her favorite part of working with seniors is getting to visit and love on them, while learning about their life experiences.
Hollie loves building relationships and friendships with team members and is always brainstorming new ways to make them feel loved and appreciated.
She really enjoys being outdoors while hunting, bow-fishing, and target shooting. She also loves shopping, traveling, boating, and tubing down the river. She holds her friends and family very close to her heart and spends a lot of time with them.
Walk With Me Coordinator
Cindy was born in Banner Elk N.C, yet spent most of her life in Charleston S.C. She has previous experience in housekeeping and designing highway and coal mines. She is delighted to work with and love on our Memory Care residents. “The Memory Care Seniors are the apple of my eye. I love to bring back memories with them to find themselves.”
Cindy loves working at The Blake because of the team she works with and the residents who live there. To her, they are family. She loves making smiles on her Memory Care residents faces.
When she is not dedicating her time to working, she loves family time. She also loves woodworking and making ink pens. Cindy has a beautiful grand-daughter and a wonderful son who are the world to her.
Dining Room Coordinator
Jessie is originally from Detroit, Michigan. She joined The Blake with 10+ years’ experience in customer service and dining.
She loves working with seniors and being able to engage with them one-on-one and listening to stories that are precious to their hearts. Her favorite part of working at The Blake at Kingsport is not only the residents, but her staff and AMAZING leadership team!
When Jessie is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, while doing activities together with them. She also enjoys singing and playing the guitar when she has “down time”.
Director of Dining Services
Chef Matt Ball leads our culinary department as Director of Dining Services. Chef Matt comes to us with 17 years experience and a tremendous enthusiasm for serving seniors. Chef Matt is from Kingsport and received his culinary education at Walters State Community College after graduating from Sullivan North High School.
When he’s not serving up delicious meals in our kitchen, you can find him camping, fishing and playing video games with his kids.
Theresa Redmond joined The Blake at Kingsport as our Move-In Coordinator and then transitioned into our full-time Concierge. In this role, she works with residents and families coordinating move-ins and making sure their transition to The Blake at Kingsport is comfortable and seamless. Theresa is from Bristol, TN and comes to us with over 10 years experience in senior care.
Director of Facilty Management
Danny is originally from Bluff City, TN. He is a licensed electrician through the state of Tennessee. He comes to The Blake with 2 years of electrician trade classes at Northeast Community College and holds a Mechanical & Electrician Certificate. He also owns a small business.
His favorite part of working with residents is getting to know them and hearing ‘old time’ stories from their past. Danny is grateful for the opportunity to take care of such a beautiful facility and work with a leadership team that feels like a tight nit family.
When Danny is away from work, he enjoys fishing, traveling with his wife and spending time with his kids and grandchildren.
