Renee Matheny is the Executive Director for The Blake at Bossier City. Renee has over 15 years of senior living experience. She looks forward to building a community in which both our residents & our team members can grow and thrive. Renee and her husband Joe live in Shreveport and stay busy with their grandsons Kiptyn, Slayter and Ryder.
Director of Sales
Jan Hutchinson is the Director of Sales for The Blake at Bossier City. Jan has more than 20 years’ experience in the travel industry and has lived all over the world. She is a native of Shreveport. Her favorite part of working with seniors is being able to reminisce about the old days and watching their eyes light up when they talk about their families. She is excited to work with a company with such good morals and down-to-earth personalities. She loves that The Blake puts the residents first!
Director of Wellness
Sharla Matlock is the Director of Wellness for The Blake at Bossier City. As the leader of the wellness department, she oversees medication management, personal assistants, direct resident care, and coordination of health care Sharla is an RN with 18 years’ experience in many areas of nursing including geriatric, pediatrics, home health and education. She is a native of Shreveport. Her favorite part of working at The Blake is knowing that she is working for a company that stands behind the name and community that they have built but also values being a FUN place to live and work!
Director of Business Operations
Jane Howell is the Director of Business Operations for The Blake at Bossier City. Jane is from Indianola, MS and has been in the healthcare industry for over 45 years with 15 years’ experience in Assisted Living. When she is not working, Jane enjoys reading, sewing, spending time with her three grandchildren and cheering on the football team coached by her son.
Director of Activities
Chelsea Giles is a native of Shreveport and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science with a concentration in Culinary Arts from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Chelsea joins the Blake with over ten years of experience in the hospitality and event planning industry.
Chelsea’s favorite part of working with seniors is introducing them to new things that are out of their usual comfort zone. She also loves seeing the joy and happiness on their faces when they complete a task they didn’t think was possible.
Director of Facility Management
John is originally from Shreveport, LA. He has extensive knowledge and experience in maintenance, which he has worked for over 37 years. He worked for Doctors’ Hospital, Lifecare Hospital, and now for The Blake at Bossier City.
John’s favorite part of working with seniors is that they are always happy to see him. He truly enjoys working with our residents and guests. When John is not working, he is spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Director of Dining Services
Michael is originally from Frierson, LA. He oversees The Blake’s dining programs and a team that is responsible for recipe and menu development as well as training programs to help meet the unique dietary needs of seniors and maintain their satisfaction.
Michael attended ServSafe, a food and beverage safety training and certificate program, administered by the U.S. National Restaurant Association. His career background includes over 30 years as a professional in the food industry from small businesses to country clubs, catering, and assisted living facilities and retail food service.
Michael enjoys hearing the resident’s stories because “it is like living in the history books”. He also enjoys serving people, cooking and helping friends.
