7/27/20 Update from Executive Director Nicole Briggs

Jul 27, 2020 | COVID-TBAK

As Sullivan County copes with a recent spike in COVID-19 cases, we wish to provide you with this important update regarding The Blake at Kingsport.

We are in regular contact with state and local health departments and continue to operate by the highest standards of safety, and in full compliance with guidance from the Tennessee Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Per the guidance of the Tennessee Department of Health, visitation in long term care facilities such as The Blake must be restricted when the average number of new cases per 100,000 exceeds 10 over the previous 14 days. As Sullivan County has reached and exceeded this threshold, we will have to place a temporary pause on parking lot & in-person visits. We encourage you to schedule a virtual visit by calling (423) 246-1100.

We are committed to minimizing the risk to our residents and staff, while remaining true to our core values of joy and compassion. Last week, residents reminisced about the Fun Fests of years past a week of special events and themed activities.

We will continue to provide you with periodic updates, and we encourage you to check our website at Please contact me at (423) 246-1100 if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank You,
Nicole Briggs
Executive Director
